‘Smash’ Spoilers, news, trivias and more
This was an amazing ending to a season that took fans on a roller coaster ride filled with emotion. ‘Smash‘ is a drama of passion and this is one thing the writers and creators succeeded in building in the fans. It would be hard not to be passionate with Julia, Karen, Ivy or Ellis. They all evoked different emotions and even those who did not take up much screen time like Michael also evoked intense emotions from fans.

The episode was titled ‘Bombshell’ and it was quite explosive. The penultimate question was who was going to be Marylyn and the answer was Karen. It did not come easy because Ivy fought like a woman drowning and threw every thing she got from her book of despicable deeds at her, including telling her that she slept with Dev.
Was carrying deserving of the being the lead character? There are two ways to look at this; the first is the question of who between both does not just sound but looks like Marylyn with respect to personae and even her lifestyle? The majority will clearly say it is Ivy. There is really no gainsaying about it that the life she depicted really resembled the lifestyle of the real Marylyn as far as fans can tell. But the issue here is that these are actors who are meant to act the role of Marylyn and not be Marylyn Monroe.
The money of anyone who had invested in the show and was aware of Ivy’s lifestyle would naturally go with Karen because she was far more level headed and grounded. Besides, co-actors would obviously prefer working with someone like her and that would help the atmosphere and productivity in general. But Ivy is talented and that is what no one can take from her. And there is no way the average fan would not have had some degree of sympathy for her coming into this episode, although she did loose a lot of brownie points just for the things she did here.
Derek was really the only one who saw Karen and Marylyn from the onset. One could even argue that being Ivy’s understudy, she did not see herself as such but Derek did. The sad thing was that Ivy took an overdose as her world in her eyes came crashing down on her. No matter how fans hate her now, they’ll still be eager to see what happens next season. As for Julia, she threw up and there is a hanging question in the air now about pregnancy.
As for Ellis, he was fired. It turned out that he was the one that poisoned Rebecca. He only hinted at it but that was enough. Ellis won’t disappear, people like that don’t die easily. This season finale was super and next season is pregnant. Fans are eager to see what she’ll give birth to.
The apt choice for Marilyn is getting harder to find as the season is progressing. All the nominees for Marilyn have their own set of plus and minus points and there are numerous incidents pointing …
